This tumblr…now a travel blog

On June 1st, provided no explosive underwear thwart my plans, I am departing the United States once again for Russia. The program is through SRAS at Moscow State University for two months. I have chosen to live in a dorm room this time instead of a host family to have a little more freedom and flexibility when it comes to my food and time. I will also have more privacy, since MGU’s main building has single rooms. I was fortunate enough to receive a FLAS fellowship to help me fund my studies. Here’s to hoping I return speaking perfect Russian.

Rather than post lengthy, educational blog entries like I did last time, I will post shorter entries and individual photos here. Tumblr is such an aesthetically-pleasing platform. Some of my fellow students from the UNC Slavic Department have started a collective blog for those of us travelling abroad. I will be contributing to that as well. There are no posts there yet, but have a look: http://uncslavicabroad.wordpress.com/

After my studies in Russia, I will spend eight days in Switzerland with Jeff, enjoying mountains, lakes, and cheese.
